Dear Respected Readers
Tashidelek and Namaste from the Himalaya!
The summer season is almost over and beautiful autumn season is beginning. Autumn season is always the best season to discover high mountains perfectly although many wild flowers blooming in the spring season. It seems to bring a positive trend to uplift tourism industry in forthcoming season, the symptoms have already shown from the past eight months arrivals that approximately 30% overall tourist arrival increased compared to same period even many foreign newspapers have been quoting false information about the Kingdom.
Nepal is always remain a important holiday destination for all where diversify nature, flora, fauna, culture within the small span of the land and of course the high mountain and unique Nepalese hospitability certainly indicates that Nepal is 'Dream Destination', The prestige of Dream Destination was slightly worsen due to the Maoists insurgency for some years but now every body knows that the ongoing conflict between Government Security forces and the rebels is completely political purpose and this dispute have never been targeted and killed any tourists nor the tourists areas have been influenced. The tourists' areas of Nepal have been always peaceful and will also remain the peaceful holiday destination further although such conflict has been occurring.
So all the travelers who love to visit high mountains, beautiful nature and culture are requested to visit Nepal/Himalaya and be a part to extend its rural economy through tourism, which remains a major roll to reduce mountain poverty.
We are informing all our valued readers that Nepal and Himalayan areas are safe to visit, no matter foreign newspapers and electronic medias have been reporting misleading, baseless and exaggerated information about Nepal although reality were not like as described. We presented some examples of such exaggerated news in this issue (see page 3). The nation is safe to make holiday and fact about Nepal could be experienced by oneself while visiting the land. So please be plan for your next holiday to Himalaya.
Sincerely,
Chenga Sherpa

Indian media exaggerated news: Indian Embassy |
KATHMANDU, Aug 26 - A top official of the Indian Embassy to Nepal today accepted that some private Indian media presented misleading and exaggerated news of the recent blockade imposed by the Maoists. V.P Haran, Chargé de Affairs of Indian Embassy said that though some wrong news were published in Indian media during the recent blockade, the Embassy couldn't initiate definite control measures as the Indian media is free in their reportage.
"However, the Embassy tried its best to ensure the accurate and precise dissemination of news about the recent incident from both the electronic and print media of India. But, things did not go as per our expectation," he said. |

| Fuket Air and GMW will fly soon to Kathmandu |
KATHMANDU, Aug 29 -
If things go according to plan, two new international airlines will launch services to Nepal within the next two months. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Bangladesh GMG Airlines and Phuket Airlines, a Thai private airlines, are set to operate flights to Nepal.
CAAN received formal application from Bangladesh GMG to operate a daily flight on Kathmandu-Dhaka sector. According to the CAAN, preparations are on to grant permission to GMG airlines and final decision will be taken soon. Likewise, Phuket Airlines also submitted an application with the CAAN, requesting permission to begin flights on the Kathmandu-Bangkok sector from October.
In the view of rapid development of Thailand as a major tourist hub in the world, operation of the airlines is expected to boost ailing tourism industry of the country. Their operations pave the way for Nepal to jointly launch marketing campaigns in the international sector. This will substantially help increase the tourist arrivals in the country. The interest of international airlines to operate flights to Nepal indicates that Nepal has tremendous tourism potentials.
The government had recently introduced a policy to permit maximum airlines to operate flights to the country. "Lack of air tickets is standing an impediment on the way to grow tourism industry. So, we have decided to attract new international airlines to meet surging demand for air tickets," said Medini Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Civil Aviation and Tourism. |

| 50th anniversary of the ascent of Mt Cho Oyu |
Mt. Cho Oyu or Qowowuyag peak, is the sixth highest mountain in the world lies in between Nepal and Tibet/China. Cho Oyu rising 8,201 m above sea level at 86° 39' 43'' E and 28° 05' 37'' N is situated just 20 miles west from Mt Everest and is considered to be one of the easer among the over 8000 meter mountains although challenge of high altitude climbing cannot be underestimated. The technical nature of the ascent is moderate and the climbing route is comprised of snow slopes with occasional short sections of ice climbing and rock scrambling. Thus Cho Oyu is logical choice for those desiring to climb an 8000m peak. The success of the climbing is highly depended on the weather of the surrounding area, qualified support experts and of course the experienced trekking Agency.
